Volunteering

This event is run entirely by volunteers. As a general rule, if you’ve done more than five events without giving up the chance to compete and volunteering, it’s time to put up your hand. Or perhaps you have some family members who can help out, while you compete? This table shows the roles we need help with and the kind volunteers who have already put up their hands. If you can help out, or have family members who can, please email the event organiser. If you are able to assist us with this event please contact the event organiser by email. You could earn a Volunteer Reward.

About

Join us for the first event on the North Queensland rogaining calendar for 2025, 3 or 6 hours of rogaining, your choice. The area for this event has a mix of flat area and hills. It is also loosely based upon the permanent course located at Emerald Creek. It will be set to provide serious competitors with navigational challenges and tough route choices, while novices will have plenty of options close to home in flat and easy to traverse country or challenge themselves on the harder course. As always in rogaining, you can be as competitive or as casual as you like. You decide how long you wish to stay out or return to the Hash for a hearty feed and a rest. Families and Novices are always welcome (this is a great course for novices and beginners)

It is only 1 hour 15 minute drive from the CBD of Cairns (about 72 km), 20 minutes from Mareeba. The Hash House will have easy driving/parking for 2WD’s (look out for our signs and the Orange Gazebo’s).

For more details, contact the event organiser by email.
