Volunteering
This event is run entirely by volunteers. As a general rule, if you’ve done more than five events without giving up the chance to compete and volunteering, it’s time to put up your hand. Or perhaps you have some family members who can help out, while you compete? This table shows the roles we need help with and the kind volunteers who have already put up their hands. If you can help out, or have family members who can, please email the event organiser. If you are able to assist us with this event please contact the event organiser by email. You could earn a Volunteer Reward.

About
The second North Queensland Rogaine of 2024 will be in this little visited State Forest at altitudes generally greater than 900 metres, so it is much cooler than the coast (mean maximum temperature for the end of July should be around 25 Celsius). Vegetation is typically open woodland with a grassy understory, while the topography varies from flat plains through rolling hills to some gnarly rocky ridges. Old forestry tracks and trails established for long-distance horse riding meander through much of the Rogaine area allowing for a range of different routes to be selected.
The course has been set with families and novice rogainers in mind, with a large number of markers close to the start point to ensure early success! More experienced rogainers are catered for with some distant or navigationally interesting points that should challenge map reading and compass use equally.
