Rogaining NQ and the Queensland Rogaine Association invite you to an exciting water-based rogaining event located in the heart of the Atherton Tablelands, at the iconic Lake Tinaroo for canoes or kayaks. Paddlers will enjoy views of rainforest cladded mountains to the north, eucalypt forests to the east, rolling pastures to the west and stands of tree skeletons in some of the bays.

Lake Tinaroo at a height of 688m above sea level and with a surface area of 8600 acres boasts incredible paddling opportunities amongst unique habitats and landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

The event area is well suited to hosting a paddlegaine and encourages participants of ALL paddling and navigation experiences. It will be an achievable experience for novice and family teams while presenting the option of a physically and navigationally challenging adventure with tough route choices for experienced and well prepared rogainers. Most of the controls are accessible from the water, with a quarter of the controls on land, which will require at least 2 team members to travel together on foot up to 1km from the water’s edge. The longest open water crossing is about 1.5km and paddlers will find many sheltered sections of the lake as it bends and turns.

There is a tropical dress theme, there is an award for the team who are “most in the spirit”.

Camping Saturday night is on offer (and encouraged) at the TEEC Black Gully Campus for only $5 per person.

Canoe hire is available through TEEC Black Gully Campus. Cost is $15.00 per watercraft.

Register your interest and pay for camping and canoe hire when you enter your team.

A light lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the events where we can all gather and share the presentations and random draw.

Entries are open now and will close at 10pm on Wednesday 1st November.

Further details regarding location, equipment and program for the day will be provided to all entrants via email on the Friday prior to the event.
