SEQ Bulletin – May 2019

The Stone’s Throw Hike/Bike Rogaine – Saturday 25 May – Last Chance to Enter!

Entries close on Wednesday night – get in quick…
For those who have already entered, the event information will be sent out via email on Wednesday night.
Those who want to camp on Saturday night, your camping fees are included in your entry, but we will need to know your intention to camp before the weekend (please keep an eye out for an email requesting information on this). If you want to camp on Friday night too, you can make your own booking at www.glasshousemountainscaravanandcampingpark.com.au/

Only a stone’s throw from Brisbane! Set in the beautiful Glass House Mountains, where one really should not throw stones…

This year the 8hr rogaine will be a combined foot and bike rogaine, you will navigate between checkpoints using a mix of both.

Camping is included in your event fee, and there is a Mountain Bike Orienteering event nearby on the following day (26 May) so you can enter that too and make it a full weekend of fun.

For further information and entry in both the 8hr rogaine on the Saturday and the MTBO event on the Sunday please visit the event page.

Raid 100 Washup
The Raid 100 – the world’s longest rogaine – was held in late April and all the feedback from competitors has been great. Liam and his team of volunteers (mostly QRA members) did a fantastic job to pull off such a huge event, and overcame a large number of setbacks and hiccups along the way to make it truly memorable for everyone involved. You can read Liam’s post-event wrap up here, and check out the results, reports, maps and other info here. The next A1 Series adventure race is coming up in early June and Liam has written a predictions blog here.

Moonlit Macadamia Madness – 6/12hr Rogaine – 22-23 June
Entries are now open in our 6 and 12hr foot rogaines to be held on Saturday 22 June 2019 in the Bauple State Forest, the original home of the macadamia nut.

Our 6hr event is great for families and beginner rogainers, getting back to the Hash House before dark to enjoy dinner by the campfire. Our 12hr event is always popular, since it lets you prove your skills in both day and night and also allows you to get a hearty meal at the end and a well-deserved sleep!

Make sure to plan to stay over the night and enjoy the Hash House food, campfire and camping opportunities. Dinner and breakfast are included in your entry fees, and  also go out on the course the next morning to collect controls and check out parts of the course you might have missed.

More info and online entry is here.
